The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15).
AWANA is a non-denominational ministry that assists churches in reaching children and teenagers with the gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to serve Him. AWANA Clubs International supplies programs, materials and training for more than 12,000 churches in over 110 countries. Their message to churches is simple: We're here to serve you with a ministry that is all about fun with a purpose — to win and grow kids for Christ!
Here at First Baptist Church, our AWANA ministry works with other ministries to give our children and youth a well-balanced emphasis on knowing Jesus and how we can live for Him and serve Him.
The safety and spiritual growth of children is our number one priority, so we have developed a Child Protection Policy We do a background check on every worker in our Children’s Ministries department and everyone that interacts with children must go through our training and screening process.
Preschool ministry for 3 & 4 year olds. Child must be 3 years old prior to September 1.
Cubbies is unique because it supports parents as the primary source of spiritual nurturing. By working directly with their child on the weekly handbook lessons, parents become active participants in their child’s spiritual development.

The handbooks feature basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible. Along the way, Sparky, the friendly firefly, encourages boys and girls to learn verses and complete assignments throughout the three handbooks. A child will recite well over 150 unique verses, many of which cover salvation and key Christian doctrine!
3rd – 6th Grade
